The MP3 Player Pro plugin offers several features that are not included in Sonaar themes. You can check out this article to learn about the differences between the two players.
Compatibility with Sonaar Themes #
The MP3 Player Pro is fully compatible with Sonaar themes. By using both products together, you gain access to all the plugin’s advanced features while also benefiting from the Ajax navigation built into the theme. This ensures that the sticky player keeps playing without interruption when navigating between pages.
Converting Existing Playlists and Episodes #
Once the MP3 Player Pro plugin is activated, the theme’s default playlists and episode posts become obsolete.
To convert these posts into the MP3 Player Pro format, follow these steps:
- Go to WP-Admin > MP3 Player > Tools.
- Click on “Export old Playlists / Episodes posts into MP3 Audio Player”.
This will transfer your old playlists and episode posts to the new MP3 Player format.

Replacing Player Instances #
The MP3 Player Pro does not use the same player instances as the Sonaar theme. You will need to replace your existing players with the new ones provided by the plugin.
By following these steps, you can fully integrate MP3 Player Pro into your Sonaar theme while maintaining smooth, uninterrupted playback.
Adapting Essential Grid Playlists and Episodes #
The content imported from Sonaar themes includes Essential Grid layouts that display Playlist and Episode posts. Since these post types become obsolete when activating the MP3 Player, you need to update their sources. Several grids have been imported, but it’s unlikely you’ll keep all of them, so first, identify the grid you want to use.
Steps to Update the Grid Source
- Go to WP-Admin > Essential Grid
- Edit the grid (either a Music Grid or an Episode Grid)
- Click on the “Source” tab
- Select the MP3 Player Pro post type as the new source

Adjusting Sorting Settings
- Click on the “Nav-Filter-Source” tab
- Scroll down to the “Sorting” section
- Ensure that the “Start Sorting By” option is not set to “Album release date”
- If it is, change it to another option, such as “Date”

This ensures that your Essential Grid layouts work properly with the MP3 Player Pro post type.
